Since 2000, very few affordable rental housing developments have been built in Northwest Pasadena. Meanwhile, cost of living has increased dramatically. Average market rents today far exceed the amount deemed affordable by the City of Pasadena based on area median incomes (“AMI”).
Harambee provides affordable and transitional housing to 10-15 people at any given time utilizing its three rental properties in order to address the critical need for housing in Pasadena.
When faced with heartbreaking questions like, “Mr. Redmond, my family and I don’t have a place to stay right now. Is there anything you can do to help us out,” Harambee steps forward to do what it can to provide housing for those in need.
